Canada:

Maxxam Analytics

For Akhal-Tekes, Maxxam has an agreement with Canadian Livestock Records Corporation (CLRC) whereby CLRC collects the fees for DNA tests performed by Maxxam from the horse owners, and then pays Maxxam.
Maxxam will not bill or collect money from individuals.

As a result, the process is the following:
1. The horse owner completes the DNA Test Kit Application form which is attached and sends it to Canadian Livestock Records Corporation, 2417 Holly Lane Ottawa ON K1V 0M7 with the fee of $65 plus GST ($3.25) per horse. Copies of the pedigrees for the sire and dam should be attached to the application.
2. CLRC sends the owner a test kit, to which the hairs are to be taped. The hairs are then sent to Maxxam’s lab in Guelph at the address that will be on the form.
3. Maxxam performs the test and forwards the results electronically to CLRC.
4. CLRC prints a report and forwards it to the horse owner.
