Two Akhal-Tekes took part in the Chase Creek Eventing Clinic, ran by former Canadian Olympian Nick Holmes-Smith. Pan Tau and Dagjeir are owned and trained by Amrita Ibold of AkhalTeke.cc.

This is an excerpt from the Inside Poop, which posted this story:

There would be no grid work this clinic, Nick told us. We were there to get mileage, and so we went straight into the water obstacle, which offered banks down, jumps into, water-to-water jumps, and a ramp with a jump at the top. Jumping into the water, Nick told us, it was important to sit back and not look down. The water was not something you wanted to swallow. I would remember these words later…

Anytime I was feeling a bit tired or reluctant, I just had to watch Laurel, and realize I had no excuse for wimpiness. By day 3, Pan Tau and I were moving pretty smoothly together, with the exception of jumps up onto banks. Pan Tau, although 12, and spent his first years mostly standing in a stall. He had a reputation of being difficult to handle, one of the reasons the farm in Wisconsin was willing to sell him. A year with Amrita, doing dressage, jumping and galloping through the woods had transformed him, but he was still a little uncertain with his feet sometimes. Jumping up onto banks is trickier than it looks, Nick said, because the horse has to think about getting his hind feet up first.
